James Parry - Director

James, the founder of FIJ Design, had a creative background throughout his childhood which was inspired by his grandparents model making and drawing skills. After studying A Levels in Computing, Design Technology & Graphics, he went on to gain a Degree in Product & Furniture Design at Kingston University.

Before finally setting up FIJ Design, he worked for a successful interior design and signage company for several years. People describe him as “friendly, ambitious, intelligent, highly creative and a pleasure to work with”.

James is an extreme sports enthusiast and when he is not busy managing the business (until the early hours) you will find him downhill mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing or lately learning to kite surf.

Michael Hutton - Director

Michael has been a partner of FIJ Design since it's establishment in 2007 and brings a wealth of technical knowledge and business management skills to the team.

After studying A Levels in Business Studies, Mathematics, Physics and Cambridge Information Technology at college, Michael went on to become both a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS Certified) and a Microsoft Certified Internet Webmaster through a mixture of self-study courses.

As well as working closely with the team on client projects, Michael enjoys getting to know our clients and the day-to-day challenges running the business brings him (from answering the phones to managing the company accounts). When he is not busy making sure our clients are the happiest around, Michael is an active and outgoing person who enjoys snowboarding, surfing, snooker, has a passion for motorsport and reading books pertaining to his two favourite subjects; web development and business management.

Matt Poynter - Graphic Designer

Matthew is a senior 2D Graphic Designer with over 15 years experience in the graphics and exhibition industry. His skills have included corporate identities, brand strengthening and creating company in-house artwork. He has excellent knowledge of printing techniques and digital media and has produced a wide range of graphics for exhibiting applications.

Matt has both a HND and OND in Graphic Design, an A Level in Art plus a range of other related qualifications. He has advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark, Freehand and is currently undertaking training in Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash.

He is a friendly person with a huge passion for drawing and digital experimentation. He also has a love for music and enjoys attending gigs and adding to his ever increasing CD collection.

Dan Tyack - Photographer

Dan has recently started working with FIJ Design as a Professional Photographer on both website and graphic design projects. Dan has several years of experience in the photographic industry, offering both on-location and his own independent in-studio services.

Dans skills extend beyond photography to include digital image re-touching, image manipulation, artwork preparation and is also known for his keen eye for detail.

Dan has a BA Hons Degree in Photography, a B-TEC in Art & Design and a wide range of other related qualifications. He is currently studying for a level 3 Web Design qualification, after completing his level 2 and loves any arising opportunity that enables him to explore new ideas.

Dan is an excellent team player and a keen outdoor person. His interests include football, music, traveling, fashion and graphic design. The FIJ Design team also owes thanks to Dan for his impressive skills with some of the photos used on this website.

Ken Mortimer - Web Developer

Ken is an experienced web developer and is the newest member to the FIJ Design team. Kens skills cover both software and programming and including: Oracle, Weka, Flash, Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Java, XML, JavaScript, PHP and SQL.

Ken has recently graduated from University with both a BSc (Hons) in Internet Engineering and Web Management and an MSc in Knowledge Management for Innovation, where he was involved in the study of advanced database applications, network security and the development of an open source web-based infrastructure for designing medical devices. Since joining FIJ Design, Ken has been involved with both internal and external web projects and has enabled us to continue the high, professional web standards that our clients have come to expect from a website developed by FIJ Design.

In his spare time, Ken enjoys reading books pertaining to web development and enjoys tinkering with any web project he can get his hands upon. When he is not in front of the screen, he enjoys snowboarding, skiing and traveling the world as much as he can.
